Inspired by Sandi's latest post and Moonday's request a few weeks ago.
I cannot emphasise how much I hate having my picture taken / looking at pictures of myself.
The "before" pictures were taken at my sisters wedding in October 2010, I was not at my heaviest at this point, I really cant remember how much I weighed (19 stone something / 270llbs ish). I do not have any pictures of me at my heaviest. The "after" was taken today.
I must admit that I didnt mind taking these pictures and I really dont think I look too bad, this is a major statement for me, to be able to look at a picture of myself and not feel repulsed, its real progress.
See what you think! LOL.
Wow Sonia, great progress. You looked amazing in the 'Before' pics and you look even more amazing in your 'After' pics. Girl, your concerns of saggy skin are totally misplaced...you are rocking this and carrying yourself very well!
ReplyDeleteWere you pleasantly surprised by your own transformation?
Cheers,
Archana
Thanks Archana, you are being very kind.
DeleteI think sometimes we are our own worst critics - I have hang ups about certain parts of my body, arms especially. But then when I think back, I have never really liked my arms, even when they were a regular size!
Posting the pictures was a big step for me, even though they aren't full body pics, it really helped my confidence.
I am definitely surprised! You have an image of yourself in your head and it's really hard to change. But looking at the pics, I thought, I look nice!!! and I didn't feel guilty about giving myself some credit for what I have achieved, because I have worked really hard and achieved alot. I do feel like I have turned a corner mentally, which is Fanstastic......
But it didnt stop me being really nervous turning my computer on today, thinking what comments will people have made. Not that anyone would be mean, but you want people to be able to see the changes too.
Thanks for your support xoxo
You look fabulous! Isn't it nice to see the chins disappear? I'm so glad we're on this journey together :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandi. LOL - it looks like I have a tyre around my neck!!!! Dreadful...... xoxo
DeleteWhat a transformation! I hope you have been shopping at least a little bit so you can feel good in clothes that fit. I know you don't want to get a new wardrobe that's only going to be too big soon, but it's important to look your best at whatever size you are! I guess I will post some pictures too. P.S. did you ever get some new bras?
ReplyDeleteThanks Veera, I've bought a few things and have alot of clothes from the last time I was this size 7 - 10 years ago! But I seem to be drawn to my larger clothes at the moment, its comforting, it reminds me that I've lost weight when I have to keep pulling my trousers up every 5 seconds. LOL. I did get some new bras, your advice was spot on, although they are now feeling a little big in the cup area. Will be due some new ones anytime. Hope all is well with you xoxo
DeleteOMG YOU LOOK AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Wow! Your results are really motivational, keep it up!
xo

DeleteCongratulations, you can really see the difference! keep up the good work! (shannsdukandiet.wordpress.com) I have just lost a stone and have 2 more to go! this diet is hard but it really does work! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shannon! I got all your messages. Your first comment comes for moderation and then once I have approved this, any other comments you make will automatically be posted.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the fantastic loss!!!!!
For me this type of diet is easier than others because I dont have to make decisions, I know what to eat to lose weight and I feel healthy with my food choices. It gives me control back which is an awesome feeling. :)
