100 DUKAN DAYS!!!!!

I can't believe how quickly the time has gone! It's definitely been a very challenging 100 days, but now I know that I can do it! I can manage my cravings, get comfort from sources other than food and I can feel good about myself. I could never have been so positive before this diet. I CAN - were not words in my dictionary!

I'd like to thank all the people who read my blog and those who post encouraging comments. Writing this blog and reading others, has been a great boost for me, to know that other's share the same insecurities and worries makes you feel less isolated.

So if you read my blog, just leave a little comment to let me know who you are. Where are you from? How did you find this blog? Why do you read it? What do you want hear more about? What would you like me to stop talking about?

Happy Dukan Day x

  1. Congratulations on the 100 days! You are making great progress!
Good question on why we reward ourselves with food. It's subconcious, I guess. For me, it actually was the alcohol. I needed to feel chilled and relaxed and a few glasses of wine just do wonders ... and then my resolve goes by the wayside.
Food I have been much better with. Especially if I plan ahead of time if I need to break the diet. It's all in the planning. Nothing will happen if you eat x, but if you eat x and then say "I blew it, so I might as well go on", that's the end! Better to plan for x in the first place! (Like a meal out at a thai restaurant without restrictions, a piace of cake or whatever).

  4. Thanks Moonday, I'm very lucky in that alcohol isn't something that I've ever found really appealing, I have the odd drink but it's very rare. Good job really, or I would have been 350llbs+ LOL. Planning is a great idea, it just feels so long since I thought normally about food, I can't even remember what it feels like to have normal relationship with food. I'm sure I will get there. I think the Consolidation stage of the diet will help me to work on this.

  5. Hi, this is Veera, from NYC. I think I found you on someone else's blog roll, so I add you to mine too! Seeing other people stick with Dukan and be successful helps me keep it up. I don't have that much to lose, so if others who are losing more can manage, I have no excuse! Congratulations on 100 days!

  6. Thanks for your comment Veera. I really enjoy reading your blog. I love your fitness goals and the clothing I can now fit into part, a great way to judge your fitness/weight loss! You are doing so well, sometimes the less you have to lose the harder it can be! Your fitness ethic is definitely one I could do with emulating.

  8. Hi Siltoe,
Congrats for starting your Dukan Journey! Day 22 is great! It does get easier. It took me about 3 months of strict Dukan to feel comfortable with it. Don't know how long you need to be on the diet but if you build up a good few months without cheating it helps keep your motivation - the other day I thought "I have gone 113 days without chocolate so why do I need it now?" "Why ruin 113 days hard work?" It really helps. Keep faithful to the diet for as long as you can.

Food wise - Balsamic vinegar is my big love at the moment! I cook my steak, take it out of the pan to rest and then deglaze the pan with balsamic (makes it so much easier to clean aswell) then on P&V days throw in whatever veg I am eating so they get coated in balsamic, pour over steak. Delicious......
Pan fried salmon (skin down first in dry pan) with fresh lemon squeezed over it near the end of cooking, makes a nice crispy, sticky glaze. Yum....
I eat quite a few omlettes too - tuna, chicken, turkey. Add peppers / mushrooms on P&V days. Love Ratatouille.
I sometimes make recipes from Dukan Recipe book - Chicken Marengo, Beef Bouginon. You could even cook your meat in stock/herbs/spices with veg and if PP day just eat meat out of it and keep rest as a soup for the next day.

    Hope this helps a little.
    Sonia.
