Day 216 P&V "The only thing that ever sat its way to success was a hen!"
Weigh In
13 May - SAME
14 May - SAME
I started C25K yesterday!!!!!! I felt like a bit of a plonker to be honest, but never mind! ;-) I DID IT! and it wasn't as bad as I expected. The second half of the programme I was definitely slower than the first but anything faster than walking is jogging! (and I'm sticking to that! LOL) I got a stitch after 19 minutes, but seeing as I havent done any running for 12+ years, I thought this was quite good going!
Just down the road from me is a large football field / park, so I went there and did laps around it. I read that it was better to run on soft ground than concrete, so this is what I did, thought it would be easier on my knees.
In all honesty, I can't say I enjoyed it, but the feeling of accomplishment after was fantastic! I REALLY want to be a runner and I think this will be the key to helping me stay on target where my weight and fitness are concerned. I'm excited about it, and I'm sure when I look back in 'x' months time, I will laugh at my first attempt!!!!!
What does everyone do with their arms when they jog/run???? I found it really difficult to get a rhythm at first and even when I did they still felt like unnecessary added extra's!!!!! LOL. Oh, and any idea's about time scales - how long should it take me to get the 5K under my belt? I'm going to do it every other day. The programme I'm following says it should take 2 months but I'm thinking this is slightly ambitious!!!!!
Hope everyone's having a good one! xoxo

Recipes.........
Hearty Breakfast
2 tbspn oatbran
1 tbspn sweetener (or according to taste)
3/4 cup of milk
2 eggs beaten
Soak oatbran with milk, sweetener and any other flavourings you
like for about 5 - 10 minutes. (I didnt do this the first time and some
of the oatbran was still uncooked.)
Beat eggs and mix everything together.
Put all the ingredients in a pan over heat, stir continuously so it doesnt
scramble.
Only takes a few minutes to thicken up, when it starts to get thicker I
took it off the heat so the eggs didnt overcook.
This is really filling and a great way to get an early protein boost into your day! Helped me through a few rough PMS days!!!! Found this recipe on mydukandiet.com.
Jelly Mousse
1 tub quark
1 tspn sugar free jelly crystals
Put jelly crystals in a bowl and gradually mix with boiling water (maybe 1 or 2 tbspns, just enough to dissolve crystals). Add quark and whisk (this aerates the mousse making it slightly lighter). Put into ramekins, makes 3/4 good portions.
I found this recipe on one of the forums, can't remember which one, sorry! Its great, tastes sweet and creamy! Delicious and simple.
Dukan Gateau Au Chocolat
4 large eggs
Dash of nutmeg (optional)
2 - 3 tbspn Sweetener
2 tbspns Semi Skimmed Milk
Beat egg yolks with sweetener and cocoa.
Gently add egg whites and beat until there is a smooth mixture,
then add the milk and nutmeg.
Pour into oven proof dish and bake. Cooking time 15 - 20
minutes.
Pre-heat oven to 180C / 350F / Gas 4.
Recipe found at Dukandietrecipes.co.uk.
**I assumed that the egg whites were to be whisked to stiff peaks
but the recipe doesn't specify. Another thing I found was you
may need to add more sweetener - mine seems to lose its
sweetness when baked. You know yours!**

Day 204 PP - 7 stone gone!!!!!!!!
Weigh In
P&V 1 May - SAME
P&V 2 May - 13st 1.5llbs / 183.5llbs / 83.23kgs (Loss 1llb)
7 STONE GONE!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! Cant quite believe it........ Changing my routine has really helped. I've also been more focused since setting a deadline to reach my next goal. Its amazing how you can think you are following the diet to the letter but when you look back you see where little things have creeped in that could affect your losses. Portion watching is also a big thing for me now, I've even woken up hungry this morning!!!! Better get my porridge...... :-)
I may be somewhat quiet on blogger for the next few days as I'm trying to transfer my blog over to Wordpress, I have transferred posts and comments but some of the posts are missing and comments aren't linking up with posts, etc, etc. So any spare time I have will be consumed with trying to figure it all out. I'll still be reading everyone's posts / commenting where I can, please bear with me. A few more hours in a day would be good!!!!
Hope everyone is having a great one xoxo

Day 202 (P&V) Making the most of it?!?!?
Weigh In
29 April - SAME
30 April - 13 stone 2.5llbs / 184.5llbs / 83.68kgs (Loss 1llb)
I'm definitely pleased with the way things are going weight loss wise. I got on the scales this morning hoping for a stay the same, but in all honesty I thought I had gained at least half a pound, NO a 1llb loss! I think my body definitely prefers the 3PP/3P&V routine.
I was thinking about portion sizes and I'm constantly trying to remind myself of the Protein/Veg ratio. 2/3 protein - 1/3 veg. I realised yesterday that I have unknowingly got myself into the mindset of "I'll make the most of it while I can have it!" I can't have veg everyday, so when I can, I'll make the most of it?!?!? But am I really making the most of it..............Here is just another example of crooked thinking which I need to conquer before Consolidation. I won't be able to have my celebration meal everyday but am I going to think "I better make the most of it while I can have it" and overeat/binge.
I think thats why the 3P&V is working better for me - I don't feel the need to overeat, I am happy eating smaller amounts of veg & I'm then glad to get back to the PP days. I'm also trying out eating a bigger lunch and then reducing the size of my evening meal. Tim had a great idea - we're going to get a new set of plates, ours are enormous! Much too big! Hopefully that will help with portion sizes too.
I have to tell you about this great recipe I tried on the weekend for a Dukan chocolate mousse! I cant even describe how lovely it is! I generally try to avoid sweet things as I have such a sweet tooth (My Achilles Heel for sure!) but I think every once in a while its Ok. Now I've either been on this diet for too long or this is genuinely one of the best chocolate desserts I have EVER tasted. Even after Dukan I won't be eating any chocolate cake, tarts, mousses unless its this one - why would I want to eat so many more calories when this tastes SO FAB!
I didnt take any pics but check out Ponderosity's Dukan blog for a great pic. I used gelatin leaf as I didnt have any of the powdered kind, I guessed how much I needed???? - it didnt work out too great, there was a kind of chocolate soup under the mousse (but even that was yummy! LOL).
Hope everyones having a great one xoxo
I'm hoping to get a chance later to catch up with and comment on everyone else's blogs! xoxo
